so heres the deal. let me begin by saying i am no kind of computer genious. im not completely oblivious, i can figure out some stuff, but im really confused and concerened with this. . . My friend took my iphone upstairs at his house and came down 30 seconds later with "installer" added to my phone and told me he "hacked" it. i started adding apps when i realized i couldnt slide through pages of them, because i hadnt yet updated it from 1.1.2 to 1.1.4. so when i plugged it back in on his macbook my pictures came up on iphoto, but my phone didnt come up on itunes. i left his house and came home and plugged it into MY PC and still didnt read on itunes. ive been google-ing my @$$ off trying to figure it out but i havnt really found anything like my problem. . . can anyone help me?!?! i dont want to loose my phone!
No one has perminatly damaged a iPhone or iPod Touch with just software mods, ever. I doubt you are the first so dont worry.
What I would recomend is checking for iTunes updates on the PC, if there is one then install it, if not then just forget that. Either way, if the iPhone dosent work (either after the iTunes update was installed or if there was none) shove the iPhone in to recovery mode by plugging the iPhone in to your PC and opening iTunes then hold the power/sleep button on the top then sliding the "slide to turn off" slider then when its all off hold down the power/sleep button and the home button at the same time and dont let go until some restore mode thing comes up, iTunes should then display a message saying that it has detected a iPhone in recovery mode, click OK and restore the iPhone, after that is done all should be fine
This will delete stuff off your iPhone though, but you can easily sync the videos and music though iTunes again.
